Understand your risc profile-the key to safety

Most parents learn their kids early on how to behave safely. The initial learnings are about how to behave in the traffic, how to move safely to and from school etc. It has become increasingly important to be aware about crime areas. Especially when on travel it can be tricky to now where and when to stay out. The folkZhome project have some findings in this area.
-When is the largest single deminoater of crime rics. X axis
-Where is the second most importat. The Y axis.
-With time most people realise that there are other factors that are important. For example in South Africa it is nown that you dont walk around wíth a laptop bag in the city areas. In south america as well as many american cities you keep your door and windows closed at redlights and so on. Those parameters are more difficult to identify since they are multiple in number and size. Entering the Z axis.

-Gender male female etc.
-Attitude
-Group or solo
-Etnic background
-Way of transportation car, bus, walking, jogging.
-Clothing , business or simple
-Age
-Luggage
-Height and bodystyle
-Influence of drugs
-Other factors.

At this stage we belive attitude is the most important Z factor.

Consider this when you get advice at your local destination. A safe area for the local may involve extensive risc for visitors. Enclosed is a sample from London that indicates areas where crime might be more likely to happen. However we belive that it will not reveal the full truth about risc since its not modelling in Z factors.
